World Leaders And Their Watches

Emmanuel Macron

The French Prime Minister is a watch collector and has been seen wearing a wide selection of different watches.
You may have seen the social media upset over his 'most expensive' watch, which he controversially discreetly removed during a press conference about state pensions. Granted; it probably wasn't the best time to be supposedly wearing an $80,000 luxury watch, (specifically an F.P. Journe Chronometre Bleu) whilst justifying the drastic pension reforms. TikTok, and the like, went wild.

However it turns out it wasn't the outrageously expensive F.P. Journe Chronometre Bleu, but the much more affordable Bell & Ross BR V1-92. The Bell & Ross BR V1-92 retails at around the £2000 mark. Like the Chronometre Bleu, the Bell & Ross features a vivid blue dial. Macron’s Bell & Ross, however, has been customized by the brand to include the Coat of Arms of the Presidency just above 6 o'clock. He's been seen wearing it many times. It is not clear why he felt the need to remove the watch midway through his press conference, causing people to pay it much more attention than usual.

Macron is a big support of watch brands based out of France, obviously. MARCH LA.B is another interesting watch brand he choses to wear. Macron has been spotted wearing the MARCH LA.B AM69 Electric. The AM69 Electric is a smaller 36mm dress watch that features a Swiss Ronda 517 quartz movement. It's not really a 'luxury' high end brand, but it is certainly amazing what having a president wearing your watch can do for a brands popularity.

Macron has also been spotted wearing the Longines DolceVita. A similar look to the Cartier Tank or Santos, with the large roman numeral hour markers on a rectangular watch, without the Cartier price tag. The Longines DolceVita Ref. L5.655.4.71.2 retails for around £1600.00

Lastly a rather special if unusual timepiece. It is a special edition watch, the Awake G7 La Bleue, which was crafted exclusively for a significant event. Awake, a French sustainable watch brand, is known for its commitment to eco-friendly materials and manufacturing processes, and the watch does away with the need for batteries by incorporating a sun dial. The tri-colour strap, featuring blue, white, and red, is crafted from plastic bottles retrieved from the sea. Wearing this, and supporting this company, is seen as part of Macron's pledge to promote responsible consumer choices and fostering a greener future.
