Back in 1968 NASA began to use Snoopy as a sort of 'watchdog' to watch over all their missions. It became a 'thing' in NASA to give out Snoopy awards for great work and commitment. Due to that whole story behind the movie Apollo 13, and the need to time VERY careful to the absolute second the ignition of the rockets to decrease and rise the flight path back to earth, and in 1970 NASA ended up giving Omega one for the watches having worked so well in space during this episode.
In 2003 Omega created the Speedmaster Professional 'Snoopy Award' to commemorate this 1970 award. Its. limited edition but its a large number - 5451 from the 142 hours, 54 minutes and 41 seconds that the mission lasted. Despite the fact thats quite a high number realised you do have to search to find a good one, with the correct Snoopy box, and papers.
