In one of London's most prestigious stores there is now one of the world's most prestigious watch brands. Cartier have opened the Wonder Room on the ground floor of Selfridges. This exclusive boutique features Cartier's worldclass service, with specialist advisors on hand to give expert advice on all the Cartier range.
As well as an extensive collection of watches, which watch buyers the world over will want to see in one place, there is also a bridal salon with engagement and wedding rings. The Wonder Room was designed by leading scenographer and architect Bruno Moinard, who works in close collaboration with Cartier in designing and presenting exhibitions and boutique concept styling. The watches available from the Wonder Room include the following models.
Ballon Bleu De Cartier
The latest addition to the Cartier range, the Ballon Bleu range of watches is unique in that every one contains some measure of gold. Available with mechanical movements as well as self-winding and quartz versions, the watches are made for both men and women. The styles are varied, making sure there's something to suit most tastes, including bracelet or leather straps and a choice of diamonds or no diamonds.Tank
First created in 1917 and presented to General Pershing before becoming available on the open market, all the Tank watches feature flat brancards in a style that's been widely copied but never surpassed. Although the brancards have been likened to the tracks of a tank, whether or not the name was inspired by the machines of the Great War we'll never know. Whatever the name's origins, the watch remains one of the most popular Cartier designs. Famous associations with the Tank include Warren Beatty and Jackie Kennedy Onassis.
