The Rolex Crown-
As famous as the watches themselves, and instantly recognisable, the crown emblem of Rolex features on every Rolex timepiece. Apparently we don't know who designed the crown logo to start with, but now we could not imagine the Rolex without it.
Early version were quite different, with longer arms and smaller round tips.
The Rolex Name-
Hans Wilsdorf - the founder of Rolex, wanted his watches to have a name that was short, easy to say, looked good and sounded the same in all languages. He tried every letter of the alphabet in every way, but said Rolex just came to mind one morning in London. So there you have it!
The Rolex Logo is often printed in or paired with a particular shade of green - chosen to represent money, wealth and achievement. The crown is shown in white or gold to illustrate excellence. Along with the green and the crown, and the use of a modified Garamond typeface for the word ‘Rolex’, it is now seen as one of the most world wide famous logos of all times.
