Winding crowns are usually turned clockwise until an increasingly strong resistance is felt and a mechanical lock prevents further winding as well as any possible damage to the movement.
Weekday indication - This function is a minor complication and obviously displays the current day of the week. This is often done through a viewing window on the dial.

For example, 3 bar corresponds to the pressure at a depth of 30 metres but caution means you cant assume you can use it to dive 30 meters.
Waterproof -A banned term if used when describing the water resistance of a watch. No watch is ever 100% waterproof.
